Erika Sward Named Executive Director of United for Cures
WASHINGTON (May 27, 2026) – Today, United for Cures announced that Erika Sward has been named Executive Director of the organization, bringing decades of experience in advocacy, coalition-building, and public health leadership to advance its mission.
Sward currently serves as Chief Advocacy Officer at UsAgainstAlzheimer’s and will continue in that role while serving as Executive Director of United for Cures. During her time at UsAgainstAlzheimer’s, Sward has led high-impact efforts to accelerate research, elevate patient voices, and drive policy change across the healthcare landscape.
In her new role, Sward will lead United for Cures’ strategic direction, partnerships, and advocacy efforts, with a focus on protecting and strengthening NIH funding and ensuring continued investment in lifesaving medical research, to support progress, access, and better outcomes for patients.
