United for Cures Applauds Congress for Prioritizing Medical Research Funding in FY2026

WASHINGTON, DC (February 3, 2026) Russ Paulsen, Executive Director of United for Cures, a collaborative network of patient advocacy organizations, released the following statement following the House’s passage of the final FY 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies appropriations bill.

“Adoption of a $415 million increase for NIH represents an important step for patients and families who rely on sustained research investment to deliver better treatments, earlier diagnoses, and lifesaving cures. We are grateful to congressional leaders in both chambers for championing medical research that is key to finding treatments and cures for millions of Americans.

“United for Cures urges the President to promptly sign this legislation to ensure these vital investments move forward and drive progress toward new treatments and cures.”
